P or meth testing will not go away while there is endemic drug use within some parts of the community. Drug use and the damage it can do to property is going to be here for a long time. More importantly is what P or meth can do to a families health and well being. What does seeing the continuous use of p or meth or any illegal drug do to children and their future.

There are no quick fixes to the p or meth testing issue. Debates will be had on what is a safe level of exposure to p or meth. Personally I think the only thing we do know for certain is that a zero level for P or meth is safe. Anything else then only more time and research will  tell us. 

I know there is a phrase about not mixing business and pleasure. Recently I found this can apply to rental properties too.  P or meth testing still has to be carried out and answers sometimes make unhappy reading. Unfortunately sometimes doing the right thing by one part of the family can be detrimental to another branch of the family. Regular p or meth testing is not a big stick its like a health check on property.

Why we need to keep on the ball with P or meth testing. Drug use is not going away so neither are the problems assoicated  with it. A conservative view is the best way to go until there is uniquivical proof of what is deemed a safe level of p or meth within residential environment. This thought can also apply within commercial and industrial properties and  hired transportation such as cars, motorhomes  etc.

Is this the end of routine p or meth testing in new Zealand. What does it all mean. Have we all been wrong??  Are there other issues on the agenda .

What is happening on the ground in 2018 with P or meth testing. Is it something to dread or a tool that can be used in a very positive way with regard to property. More people are using the P or meth testing as part of their pre purchase checks.It is just like getting a LIM or builders report to make an informed decision to buy or not to buy. It is the biggest purchase that many of us make. P or meth testing is also something a seller can make use of , have it as part of your sellers pack it could enable a quicker sale.

The new standard is NZS 8510:2017 Testing and decontamination of methethamphetamine-contaminated properties.

The standard has finally given clear direction to all interested parties in how to plan, assess, sample, test, analyse and decontaminate methamphetamine affected properties. This will enable remediated properties after retesting to be safely lived in once more.

Ministry of Health was published for consideration by the various interested parties around the table of p What we have all been waiting for since the end of last year, when a report commissioned by the and meth testing and remediation. This gave time for relevant groups to discus and put further points foreword.

Along with rental properties for long term lets where P or meth testing is a big issue consider holiday baches that are short term lets. Do owners need to think seriously about P or meth testing for those too.

When looking at property to purchase the question is, is there p present should not be far from the front of any potential purchasers mind, whether the property is going to be a future home or an investment property.
 

Why property p testing is so important in the current climate. As prices climb in the property market p testing is becoming part of the normal checks carried out by purchasers . The need for p testing to be carried out by competent operators is becoming more important all the time.
